A co-artistic director, co-founder and full-time dancer with Mocean Dance since its inception in 2001, Carolle led the Halifax-based dance company as sole Artistic Director from 2010-2012. She has danced in the works of local and nationally acclaimed choreographers from across the country, including works by Susie Burpee, Estelle Clareton, Roger Sinha, Michael Trent, Lesandra Dodson, Sharon Moore, Cory Bowles, Lisa Phinney Langley, Gwen Noah and Howard Richard. She has performed with Mocean Dance in all productions since its inception, locally, across the Atlantic Provinces, nationally in Ontario and British Columbia and internationally in San Francisco. Her performance of solo work by Cory Bowles, Live From the Flash Pan (2010) garnered national praise for embodying a fading rock star. Carolle has also appeared on screen in a half-hour television special, Mocean Dance which was aired nationally by Bravo! and regionally by CBC. A graduate of Halifax Dance’s Intensive Training Program, she continued her studies at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer School, and at various intensives in Toronto, London and Vienna (ImpulsTanz Festival). Carolle is an experienced dance teacher, teaching at Halifax Dance since 1994. Recently, Carolle has begun work on a new solo project with Montreal choreographer Lina Cruz.
