Mocean's sixth season was one of exponential growth, rich in both touring and home performances. The company launched its brand new website and received recognition for its hard work with awards from Contact East and The Coast.

Mocean’s Board is proud that the Mocean Dance Society has continually carried a small operating surplus, despite major budget growth each year. Moving into the operating programs at both the Canada Council and the Province of Nova Scotia has provided the organization with more stability and the ability to plan in a longer arc. This has made it possible for the company to hire an administrator and to begin to separate more effectively the work of artists, staff and board.
