Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mocean Dance creates and performs athletic, vibrant contemporary dance. Led by Co-Artistic Directors Susanne Chui and Sara Coffin, this versatile creation company commissions Canadian choreographers and company members to create dance that is highly physical, collaborative, and technically and emotionally rich. Mocean Dance tours internationally, delivering performances that engage audiences, and offering outreach activity to support the growth of contemporary dance in Canada.

There Might be Others at the Scotia Festival of Music

An international cast of 27 musicians and dancers will perform Rebecca Lazier’s New York Dance Performance (BESSIE) award winning There Might Be Others on Highlight Concert #6, Sunday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. This evening length collaboration with composer Dan Trueman features 15 dancers including members of Lazier’s New York based company, the Halifax based Mocean Dance and guest artists from Poland. The 12 person music ensemble is led by NY based Mobius Percussion collaborating with eight musicians from Scotia Festival.
