Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Mocean Dance creates and performs athletic, vibrant contemporary dance. Currently led by Artistic Director, Susanne Chui and Artistic Associate, Sara Coffin, this versatile creation company commissions Canadian choreographers and company members to create dance that is highly physical, collaborative, and technically and emotionally rich. Mocean Dance tours internationally, delivering performances that engage audiences, and offering outreach activity to support the growth of modern dance in Canada.

save the date for mocean's fundraiser

Commemorate the 100th anniversary of one of the most influential works of art of all time, The Rite of Spring, with us.   Mocean's fundraiser, Rite of Spring Fling! will celebrate creativity and the season of renewal from 7 - 11 PM on Saturday, June 8th at the Dalhousie University Club (on Alumni Crescent, just off South Street) with host CBC's Norma Lee MacLeod:

  • performances by Mocean Dance   
  • live painting by artist Holly Carr
  • spoken word performance by Shauntay Grant
  • swing music with Jack's Cats
  • silent auction, raffles, cakewalk and more!
Tickets are $40, early bird discount of $30 until May 29 (the anniversary date of The Rite of Spring's premiere date), at riteofspringfling.eventbrite.ca, or in person at Woozles, 1533 Birmingham Street. Table reservations are also available (8 seats for $280, but they're going fast!) by calling 425.4908
