About the program

Designed specifically for dancers who have a tie to the Atlantic or HRM region, the Emerge program is a three-week paid work period for young emerging dance professionals. This program is intended for dancers who are looking for creative and portfolio building opportunities and are actively pursuing a career in dance.

The selected participants will have the opportunity to cultivate skill development in choreography, improvisation, partnering work, interpretive skill, and career management while creating a new work under the mentorship of Mocean's Co-Artistic Director, Sara Coffin.

This year the new creation will be directed by emerging choreographer Kara Friesen and the new dance piece will be presented at DANSpace-on-Grafton, April 29th at 8pm and April 30th at 2pm. Celebrate International Dance Week with us!
