2016-2017 emerge choreographer
|Kara Friesen is a dancer based in Halifax and choreographs independently throughout the city. Her first full-length production “Toxicity” won best dance show in The Atlantic Fringe Festival 2015. She collaborates with the greater dance community on a regular basis engaging in a socially driven means of communication through dance.

|After Graduating from Ryerson University’s dance program (BFA), Olivia moved back to Halifax, NS to start a small dance collective “Nostos Collectives”. Since her return she has had multiple opportunities to perform and collaborate with companies such as Mocean Dance, Kinetic Studio, Connection Dance Works and Nostos Collectives. Most recently Olivia co-created and performed in a full-length performance sponsored by Arts NS titled “B-Side” which premiered in Halifax, NS (2016).|
Jessica Lowe hails from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She started dance at the age of five training at
Dartmouth Dance Academy and Leica Hardy School of Dance. In 2015, after moving to Toronto she graduated from York University’s BFA Dance Program, Jessica is the co-founder of Nostos Collectives a non-for- profit dance company based in Halifax and Toronto that creates performance and choreographic opportunities for emerging dance artists.
| Joshua believes that learning from as many artists as possible is the key to becoming who you are as an artist yourself. Therefore, has spent the past three years traveling to Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and London, UK to train with many of his biggest inspirations. Joshua is very excited and thankful to have been selected for this process. ||
