CLAIRE FRENCH is a UK-born, Vancouver–based choreographer, dance teacher, performer and artistic coordinator/adviser. She has been dancing since the age of three. Alongside composer James Maxwell, French is co-artistic director of the dance and music company, Restless Productions. Recent company performances include Movent's Dances for a Small Stage and Pro Musica's Sonic Boom. Her independent choreographic works have been presented throughout Canada, Europe, and the UK. She has a first class BA (Hons) degree in Dance with Inter-Arts, Bretton Hall UK (1994) and an MFA Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University (1999). She returned to SFU as a sessional instructor for Dance Composition in Fall 2007 and most recently taught for the new BPA program at Capilano University. Claire was Dance Artist in Residence/Teaching Fellow at Leeds University UK from 2005-2007, a dance artist in residence at The Dance Centre Vancouver 2008/9, and at The Landing Dance Center 2010/2011. In February 2012 she performed in Andrea Bozic's After Trio A as part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and The Dance Centre's Global Dance Connection.
