Mary Ellen MacLean

Theatre Artist
Actress, creator, director and producer Mary Ellen MacLean bases herself in Halifax. In 1983, she became a founding member of Jest In Time Theatre, which toured worldwide and created three television specials for CBC. Other TV and film credits include performances in Made In Canada, Liocracy, Shattered City, Wilby Wonderful, her short film Wound Up and Frankie, broadcast on Bravo!. Other theatre credits include Frankie (national tour) and performances with Live Bait, Neptune and Mulgrave Road theatres. As a member of Jest in Time she received the 2002 Merritt Award for best production (Trip) and the 2003 Merritt achievement award for 20 years of theatre excellence. In May 2006, her movement play, Velocipede premiered to sold out audiences as part of Live Art Dance Productions’ season. In January 2007, she directed Molly's Veil at Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, BC.
